The Texas Vehicle of the Year Awards are decided by a select jury of automotive journalists who are part of the Texas Motor Press Association. Voters are invited to be a part of the awards committee by the Executive Board. Voters must cover the new cars, trucks, SUVs, and CUVs as part of their beat.
Each year, the following awards are presented:
- Texas Truck of the Year
- Texas SUV of the Year
- Texas CUV of the Year
- Texas Car of the Year
All vehicles that have been significantly redesigned or introduced as a new model during the 2018 model year will be considered for the 2019 award.
Jurors will vote for the models on that list and the results will be announced live during the Houston Auto Show.
There is no cost to automakers to enter, participate, or qualify for the Texas Vehicle of the Year Awards.
Winning automakers will receive a trophy to display at their stand throughout the auto show season.
